Privacy Policy

1. About Galopel

Galopel is a free educational app for children aged 3–5, with activities covering numbers, letters and logic. It's developed and maintained by a single independent developer. Contact details are at the end of this page.

2. What is stored and where

When you create a profile for your child in the app, the following is saved:

• the name chosen for the profile (this can be anything: a first name, a nickname or a random string of characters);
• the avatar chosen from a predefined list in the app;
• the selected age level (3–4 or 4–5 years);
• progress through activities (what has already been completed, used to display progress checkmarks).

All of this information is saved exclusively on your own device, using the phone or tablet's local storage. There is no account, no server, no online database. This data never leaves the device and we, as the developer, have no access to it whatsoever.

3. What we don't collect

Galopel does not collect, request or transmit:

• the child's or parent's real name, address, phone number or email;
• photos, audio or video recordings of the child;
• the device's location;
• contacts stored on the phone;
• advertising identifiers or data used to profile children.

The app only plays pre-recorded audio files (spoken instructions). It never records sound.

4. App permissions

On Android, Galopel requests a single technical permission, to modify audio settings, needed only to correctly play the spoken instructions and sound effects in each activity. The app does not request access to the microphone, camera, location, contacts or photo storage.

5. Children's privacy

Galopel was built with young children in mind. No activity asks for personal information and there are no comments, no chat or any other way to interact with other people. We do not collect, store on a server or share personal data from children, in keeping with the spirit of child-privacy regulations such as COPPA in the United States and the provisions of the GDPR that apply to minors in the European Union.

6. Ads and third parties

Galopel contains no advertising and includes no analytics, statistics or behavior-tracking tools (of the kind offered by ad networks or analytics platforms). We do not share, and have nothing to share, with third-party companies, because the app does not collect data that ever leaves the device.

7. Purchases and subscriptions

Galopel is and will remain completely free. There are no in-app purchases, subscriptions or content locked behind a paywall.

8. Data security

Because profile data stays exclusively on the device and is never transmitted to an external server, the usual risks associated with sending or storing data online don't apply here. The security of this data depends, in practice, on the general security of your own device (screen lock, up-to-date software and so on).

9. Parental control

From the "For Parents" section of the app (protected by a small addition exercise, so a child can't easily get in), you can at any time:

• edit or delete any profile you've created;
• view the full list of existing profiles.

Uninstalling the app permanently removes all locally saved data, with no further action needed from us, because no copy of it is kept anywhere else.

10. Changes to this policy

If the way the app works changes in a way that affects privacy (for example, a new feature is added), this page will be updated and the date at the top of the page will reflect the most recent change.
